Trump, Ohio officials endorse Vivek Ramaswamy for governor
President Donald Trump has joined Ohio officials in endorsing Vivek Ramaswamy in next year’s gubernatorial race.
“Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio, a place I love and WON BIG, THREE TIMES, in 2016, 2020, and 2024!” Trump wrote in his Nov. 7 Truth Social post.
Trump then said that Ramaswamy is “something SPECIAL,” adding that he is a “Young, Strong and Smart” person, who loves this country.
“As your next Governor, Vivek will fight tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Advance Election Integrity, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump wrote.
After praising Ramaswamy, Trump said that Ramaswamy has his “Complete and Total Endorsement.”
“HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” Trump concluded.
The Ohio Laborers’ District Council, which represents over 22,000 skilled construction workers across Ohio, also endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for governor, according to CW Columbus.
“Vivek Ramaswamy shares our values and understands the importance of investing in Ohio’s workforce,” Clint Powell, the council’s Business Manager, said, alleging that Ramaswamy is committed to infrastructure investment, livable wages, pensions and health benefits for workers.
“Vivek Ramaswamy shares our values and understands the importance of investing in Ohio’s workforce,” Powell said.
Earlier this year, Ramaswamy also earned the Ohio Republican Party’s endorsement in the 2026 gubernatorial race, the Associated Press reported.
Ramaswamy graduated from Harvard University as an undergraduate student and from Yale University’s Law School, Newsmax reported. The billionaire also founded a biotech firm and an investment firm.
In 2024, he ran for president against Trump, but later dropped out and endorsed Trump for the job. Ramaswamy also served as a leader of the Department of Government Efficiency before leaving shortly after Trump took office.
Ramaswamy announced that he is running for governor in February, saying, “America is back, and it feels fantastic,” according to the Ohio Capitol Journal.
“I’m now more optimistic than I have ever been for the future of our country. We’re on the cusp of a new golden age in America right now,” he said.
Ramaswamy then explained to Ohioans why he thinks they should vote for him.
“I will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country to start and grow a business,” he said, according to the Ohio Capitol Journal. “I will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country to raise a young family… I will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country to give our kids the toolkit to think of themselves not as victims but as victors in a competitive global economy.”
