Sherrod Brown FINALLY pulls his support of Graham Platner following even more allegations

How much is too much?

After remaining quiet about Maine Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner’s various controversies, which included having a tattoo of a Nazi symbol and allegedly saying women should “act like an adult” to avoid rape, former and wanna-be U.S Sen. Sherrod Brown now says enough is enough.

“The allegations against Graham Platner are deeply disturbing. He should drop out,” Brown said in a Tuesday, July 7, post to X following new allegations published by Politico.

A review of Brown’s robust X feed shows various posts parroting standard Democratic talking points and attacks on his opponent, Republican U.S. Sen. Jon Hustead. However, Brown, a Democrat who represented the Buckeye State in the U.S. Senate until voters ousted him in 2024, has seemingly remained mum about other controversies involving Platner.

The growing list of controversies and allegations against Platner includes an allegation that the Maine Senate candidate said he would rape someone to show his dominance. He has also faced allegations that he posted explicit pictures on a website used to exploit children and called a Purple Heart recipient “a dumb motherf***er who didn’t deserve to live.”

“Sherrod Brown stayed silent through a Nazi tattoo, sexual assault, and exploiting children, proving he will tolerate the most disgusting behavior imaginable until it becomes a liability for political gain,” Republican National Committee Spokesman Hunter Lovell said in a statement.

Republicans also blasted Democratic U.S. Reps. Marcy Kaptur and Greg Landsman for not chiming in on Platner, who is facing increased calls to step aside following the latest allegations. Platner is seeking to unseat moderate Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins.
