Bipartisan agreement: Sherrod Brown is too old and out of touch to be a senator from Ohio again

Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Sherrod Brown began reminding some Americans of former Democratic President Joe Biden, with even politically left-wing news outlets pointing out his hypocrisy when it comes to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and his party being disconnected from the regular, struggling Americans.

Townhall recently recorded Brown “stumbling around aimlessly like Joe Biden” after the reporter for the news outlet asked him about unions not supporting him.

“He literally spins around in circles while his handlers grab his arms to direct him. This is ROUGH,” Townhall wrote on X.
While Townhall is a politically conservative news source, which automatically implies a negative bias toward Brown, politically left-wing news outlets also criticized Brown in their reports.

Politico, for example, pointed out Brown’s hypocrisy when it comes to the Epstein scandal. While running for the Senate against Sen. Jon Husted, R-Ohio, Brown repeatedly mentioned that Husted accepted more than $100,000 from Les Wexner, the richest person in Ohio, who was allegedly connected to Epstein, according to multiple national, state, and local news outlets.

Politico, however, reviewed the Federal Election Commission records and found out that Brown himself took money from Wexner’s wife.

“Brown accepted $10,200, and his leadership PAC America Works Federal accepted $15,000 in donations from Les Wexner’s wife, Abigail Wexner, between 2011 and 2019,” the news source reported.

Politico also wrote that Brown and the PAC declined to reveal what they did with the money, highlighting that Husted’s campaign previously said that it is giving “Wexner’s money to charity.”

The Atlantic, another notoriously left-wing publication, also recently published a piece on Brown. Even though the author was more sympathetic toward Brown, claiming that Brown is “probably the Democrats’ best hope of flipping a seat that otherwise would likely stay Republican,” the article’s author pointed out that Democrats, including Brown, have been losing the votes of working-class Americans because it has become the party of the college-educated elites who’s been promising to solve the problems since 1990s without actually doing anything.

When the author asked Brown during the interview in Toledo last year about why Democrats lost the working-class vote, Brown said that he doesn’t “spend a lot of time thinking about it,” which surprised the author because Brown has been presenting himself as a people’s candidate who wants the Democrats to become the “workers’ party again,” as he wrote in his essay or The New Republic.

“SherrOLD Brown doesn’t know when to call it quits. After Ohio voters sent him packing in 2024, Brown is delusional if he thinks they want more of the Brown-Biden inflation that put a strain on their wallets and upended livelihoods,” the Republican National Committee Spokesman Hunter Lovell told Ohio.News in an email. “Ohioans are ready to send Senator Jon Husted back to Washington to continue fighting for lower taxes, lower costs, and an America First agenda.”
