Eric Conroy in new video: ‘It’s time to get back to that common sense conservative leadership that we all know in southwest Ohio’

Cincinnati native Eric Conroy, who is running for the U.S. House in a Cincinnati-area district, is featured in the newest installment of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “MAGA Majority” video series.

Conroy, who was raised on the west side of Cincinnati, emerged unscathed in this year’s Republican primary. He is hoping to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman, a former Cincinnati city councilman, in Ohio’s First Congressional District race in November.

Republicans, hoping to retain their hold on Ohio, added Conroy to the 2026 “MAGA Majority” list, a nationwide initiative aimed at flipping the map in their favor. Under the initiative, the NRCC will provide candidates with early support and strategic resources to increase their visibility in districts President Donald Trump won in 2024 and represented by perceived vulnerable Democrats.

In the “MAGA Majority” video, Conroy, who’s been endorsed by President Donald Trump, touts his service, including in the United States Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency.

“I’ve always been very passionate about the region and I think we need a common sense conservative to take it into the future,” he said.

“Greg Landsman has failed this community because he does not represent the common sense conservative values that we believe in,” Conroy added. “He’s a scandal-ridden Congressman who’s placed bettering himself over service. It’s time to get back to that common sense conservative leadership that we all know in southwest Ohio.”

Landsman, who defeated Damon Lynch IV, the son and grandson of two Cincinnati civil rights activists and pastors, in this year’s Democratic primary, has faced a drumbeat of headlines about his record, including questions about his vote against funding the Department of Homeland Security and about his fundraising after revelations that he received an overwhelming majority of donations in the first fundraising quarter of 2026 from donors outside Ohio.

Two years ago, Landsman won reelection in 2024, picking up 56% of the vote to knock off his Republican challenger. However, Republicans believe they have a chance to win the district this year following last year’s redistricting.

“Cincinnati native, Air Force veteran, and former CIA officer Eric Conroy has spent his life fighting for America and he is ready to take that fight to Washington for southwest Ohio,” NRCC Spokesman Zach Bannon said in a statement. “Greg Landsman lined his own pockets via corruption, raised costs, and made Ohioans less safe; Ohioans are ready for change and will reject liberal Landsman this fall.”

The NRCC also added Derek Merrin to the 2026 “MAGA Majority” program. Merrin, a Trump-endorsed former state representative from Lucas County, is hoping to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who has served in Congress since 1983.
