Vance: November election ‘the most important election of our lifetimes’
Vice President JD Vance, in a campaign rally in his home state, urged voters to support Republicans Vivek Ramaswamy and U.S. Sen. Jon Husted in next month’s election, saying it “is the most important election of our lifetimes.”
During an event at the Allen County Regional Airport in Lima, Ohio, the vice president, who served in the U.S. Senate before his ascendancy to the nation’s second-highest elected office, urged voters to stick with Republicans.
“Every single day I see a headline or a press release from Sen. Husted and I think, ‘Dammit, I’m kind of jealous of that guy,’” Vance said, The Columbus Dispatch reported. “Why didn’t we think of that when I was in the United States Senate?”
Husted, appointed by Republican Gov. Mike DeWine to fill the seat Vance vacated, is facing former U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, who is trying to paint himself as a moderate. However, recently resurfaced videos show Brown’s positions align with popular liberal ones, such as universal healthcare.
VP @JDVance SHREDS Sherrod Brown for trying to fool Ohioans into believing he's a moderate Democrat while voting like Bernie Sanders:

“What we’ve done over the past couple years is reverse some of the worst trends that existed in the United States for my entire lifetime,” Vance said, according to the Columbus newspaper.
Vance also urged voters to support Ramaswamy for governor. The entrepreneur faces Amy Acton, the former director of the Ohio Department of Health who quit amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before giving his remarks, Vance cast his ballot at the Hamilton County Board of Elections in Norwood, WCPO-TV reported. Polls show both Brown and Acton leading their respective races, with the Brown-Husted race within the margin of error.
“This election is the most important election of our lifetimes,” Vance told the crowd, Cleveland.com reported. “We need to run up the score, and we need to do it big.”
Thank you, @JDVance. We’ll deliver on it: crush fraud, crush property taxes, and make home ownership affordable for young people. pic.twitter.com/MHoPBBvO1i
