New ad hits Greg Landsman for voting for ‘the largest tax hike in American history’
American Action Network has launched a new ad targeting Democratic U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman, saying the Cincinnati area lawmaker has voted for higher taxes.
The group specifically points to the Working Families Tax Cut, which it said provides the largest tax cut in American history by cutting taxes on tips and overtime and lowering Social Security beneficiaries’ taxes. They also decried Democrats for focusing on what they see as “radical priorities,” including taxpayer-funded sex changes for minors.
“Tell Congressman Greg Landsman to stop voting for higher taxes,” the ad says. “Stop forgetting about us.”
The new ad is part of a nationwide $22 million “summer issue advocacy campaign” and a $1 million campaign in Ohio. The ads, which will run in 41 congressional districts nationwide, aim to highlight the “stark contrast between conservatives and liberals on lowering costs and federal spending priorities.”
“Conservatives put working families first by delivering historic tax relief,” AAN President Chris Winkelman said in a release.
“Meanwhile, far-left lawmakers are obsessed with radical ideas—like raising your taxes and making you pay for sex-change surgeries for kids,” Winkelman added. “AAN is going to keep calling out these policies for what they are: bad for your wallet and wrong for American families.”
Landsman, a former Cincinnati city councilman, has represented Ohio’s First Congressional District since 2023. He faces Cincinnati native Eric Conroy, an Air Force veteran and former Central Intelligence Agency agent endorsed by President Donald Trump.
As Republicans look to shore up their hold on Ohio, the National Republican Congressional Committee added Conroy to the 2026 “MAGA Majority” list, a nationwide initiative aimed at flipping the congressional map in their favor.
American Action Network is launching ads in 23 Republican held districts and 18 Democratic-held districts, including two in Ohio. It has also launched an ad supporting Republican Derek Merrin in Ohio’s Ninth Congressional District, who is hoping to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who has served since 1983.
With the ad buys, the group said its total investment has reached a record $62 million in a single Congress.
