Ramaswamy campaign announces nearly $20M campaign haul in 2025
The campaign for presumptive Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy raised $19.8 million in 2025.
The campaign said the fundraising haul marked “the strongest fundraising performance ever by a gubernatorial candidate in Ohio history.” Ramaswamy announced his bid for governor nearly a year ago, in February 2025.
The campaign said the fundraising figure “does not include personal investment from Vivek.”
“The most impressive part about this record-breaking haul is that the average donation size is just $76, showing that Vivek’s campaign is driven by grassroots energy,” Jonathan Ewing, campaign manager for Vivek for Ohio, said in a release. “We’ve never seen anything like this in the history of gubernatorial campaigns in Ohio.”
Earlier this month, the President Donald Trump-endorsed and the Ohio Republican Party-endorsed Ramaswamy picked Ohio Senate President Rob McColley, R-Napoleon, as his running mate. Presuming they breeze through the Republican primary, they will face Democratic candidates Amy Acton, who left her post as director of the Department of Health amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and David Pepper, the former chair of the Ohio Democratic Party.
“Our opponents will try to downplay this record-breaking fundraising haul, but the numbers speak for themselves,” Ewing added. “Ohioans know the Acton-Pepper socialist-style agenda would send our state backward, while Vivek is laser-focused on improving the lives of Ohioans: lower costs, bigger paychecks, and better schools. And we’re just getting started: today’s fundraising numbers are just the tip of the iceberg.”
At the end of July, Acton announced that her campaign had raised more than $1.3 million at that point in the cycle. That was below the record-setting haul of $9.7 million Ramaswamy reported for the first half of the year.
The Acton campaign told Signal that it raised $4 million between July 29 and Dec. 31. According to the report, Acton reported about $3 million in cash heading into this year, well below the $12.9 million in cash that Ramaswamy reported.
Ramaswamy must first face off against Heather Hill and Casey Putsch in the Republican primary, according to Ballotpedia.
