U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur takes money from a pro-transgender PAC and votes accordingly
U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, has been taking money from a pro-transgender PAC for the last several years, which resulted in her consistently pushing the ideology by either voting or not voting for different bills.
Federal Election Commission data indicated that Kaptur received $13,000 from Equality PAC between 2022 and 2024.
Equality PAC previously expressed its support for the so-called “gender-affirming care” for children.
“Making sure our kids get access to proper medical care is critical to their health in the long-term,” the PAC wrote on X. “Gender-affirming health care should be left to families and doctors, not politicians.”
Equality PAC also opposed former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s call to halt “drug treatments for transgender youth at a pediatric care center in St. Louis after a whistleblower complaint alleged misconduct by those treating children for gender dysphoria and other issues,” according to The Washington Post.
“The government has no place in someone’s doctor’s office, and that applies to health care for trans youth as well,” the PAC wrote in another post on X. “Trans people just want to exist. Let them.”
Additionally, Equality PAC hosted drag-queen story hours for children while praising “amazing” drag queens for telling children that “reading is fundamental.”
“Now more than ever, it is so important we teach our youngsters about acceptance and being kind to one another,” the PAC wrote.
Equality PAC also opposed legislation to ban hosting drag performances in places where children could be present.
“Bills like these violate the First Amendment, hurt businesses, and place the lives of #LGBTQ people at risk,” the PAC wrote. “This isn’t about protecting children. This is about making discrimination against LGBTQ people legal.”
After taking money from the PAC, Kaptur adopted the same ideology. The Daily Wire recently reported on Ohio Democrats being silent on the bill that protects parents’ right to protect their children from the “transgender” ideology by refusing the so-called “transition.” There is no indication that Kaptur supported this bill.
Kaptur also voted against prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds for the so-called “sex-change” operations, according to Military Times.
She also voted for the Equality Act, which would prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and so-called “gender identity,” according to her Clerk voting record.
“The legislation would make it unlawful to differentiate among girls and women in sports on the basis of sex for any purpose,” and make participation in any athletic program co-ed or “open sport,” according to The Washington Post.
Clerk data also indicated that Kaptur voted against the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act” in 2023 and 2025. The legislation would make it a “violation of Title IX for federally funded education programs to allow people assigned male at birth to participate in athletic programs designed for women.”
“Democrat Marcy Kaptur continues to push a radical and dangerous social agenda on children that is completely out of touch with Ohio values,” the National Republican Congressional Committee Spokesperson Zach Bannon told Ohio.News in an email. “Kaptur is too extreme for Ohio.”
